Here is my certificate from "Accounting for Non-Accountants" course, I believe that accounting knowledge is a part of engineers' concerns, especially those who are concerned to improve their company's flows, in this course basically I learned how to deal with the publicly financial details, how to prepare the main types of financial statements, based on IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).

Income Statement, Consolidated Balance Sheet, and statement of cash flows, These three statements are informative tools that any engineer can use to analyze and improve a company's financial strength, financial health, and so on.

So based on that, you can be an important part of the foundation team, to direct the financial status to the main target "profitability".
